5 Days before Christmas Day, not the best way to get out of cooking!!!!!
After the first week I found out it was a very bad sprain and a crack in a bone in my ankle. But the x-rays showed there was an old brake which I did not know about. How could that happen without knowing!!!!!!!
Check out the cushion!!!!! Found a use for it!!!!!!!!
One great thing that has come from it is my husband has had to learn to cook after 42 years of marriage now there is no excuse!!!!!!!
I have been watching a lot of quilting DVDs, and doing a bit of red work, reading quilting books BUT today I did a little FMQ using my left foot on the foot control. I have to keep my leg up as much as possible, then back to fracture clinic on the 11th Jan....................

November FMQ Challenge
Well I have stitched my challenge for November not to happy with it I'm a bit under the weather again, now I have ti flu which I have had for two weeks now! I will be trying this again when I am feeling better.
Finally finished my Halberg Challenge which should have been finished at the end of September, better late than never!!!!!!
Prince Charles and Camilla came to FEILDING for a visit while touring New Zealand, Camilla went to Palmerston North while Prince Charles went on to visit a farm. We live around the corner from the road he was traveling, so many people took the opportunity to see him. The main road out to the farm was near about three schools, so they had all come out to watch him pass by!!!!!

Table Cloth Quilt
I just had to try out FMQ an old table cloth, I bought this cloth from the arts recycling centre. The cloth cost me 30 cents and it had quite a few holes in it. It is amazing how it is very hard to see were they are now.
The photo below is the back of the quilt.
Thank you Lucy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday, October 13, 2012
On Saturday 13th Oct 2012 the day started at 9-30am with a class with Barbara Pritchard making a notebook cover. We used water soluble wax pastels to make our background fabric, then added flowers which we then free motion quilted them down. I left the class early because I was going to a lecture in Palmerston North. The lecture was given by Rosalie Dace she is from Durban, South Africa (www.rosaliedace.co.za/) Very interesting lecture. From there I had to rush off to a surprise dinner for friend I used to work with many many years ago it was her 60th birthday. So today I am just lazying about, I have finished the notebook cover today adding some beads!!!!!!!!!!

Quilting on the treadle at the Quilt Exhibition
I demonstrated Free Motion Quilting on a treadle sewing machine for three days of Rose City Quilters exhibition. I quilted seven and half cushion front top pieces. And had a workout as well, just joking!!!!!
A closeup of the free motion quilting on the treadle.
Three of the pieces I did on the weekend!!
Rose City Quilters had a fabric house challenge, I got carried away and made three! I made a Mouse house, A smurf house and a fairy house. The judging was by the public voting, made by a gold coin vote. I think there must have been a lot of children voting because my smurf house won!! ! How embarrassing as the other houses were SOOOOO beautiful with so much work put into them.
The ginger bread house got second it is beautiful it was made by Jill Hogg and my tree stump house was third!!

I have surprised myself
A photo I have taken of Lexus
I have traced Lexus from the photo then printed it out on two pieces of paper making it larger then tracing it on to a white piece of fabric, then painting it so I can then applique it on a centre block for a lap quilt. I painted the fabric then did the shading I have surprised myself with this. I think I will now add some light highlights to her.
