June FMQ Challenge

Here is my June FMQ sample stitched on a Treadle sewing machine

I know I havin't been posting much lately I am trying to keep up with as much quilting as I can, I am looking after a 21 month old little girl (a busy little girl) I have been working on some challenge wall hangings so I cannot really put up photo's of these until after September.  Now must go and do some more quilting on my challenges!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Quilting to everyone!!!!!!!!!!

I have surprised myself

 A photo I have taken of Lexus

I have traced Lexus from the photo then printed it out on two pieces of paper making it larger then tracing it on to a white piece of fabric, then painting it so I can then applique it on a centre block for a lap quilt.   I painted the fabric then did the shading I have surprised myself with this.  I think I will now add some light highlights to her. 

May Update!!!!!

 I have not blogged for a while I a just a bit behind I am having to look after my 20 month old grand daughter and she is taking up a lot of my quilting time but she will grow up!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

May's challenge by Leah Day was to practice some background or filler stitching.  She posted two designs, one curvy and one with angles.  The curvy one she named Double Stippling, and the angled one is called Railroad Tracks.

For April the challenge tutorial was to learn to transfer a quilting motif with a technique taught by Don Linn. He uses bridal tulle for this technique.

March 2012 FMQ Challenge Tutorial, by Ann Fahl

I must say when I first saw this challenge I thought it looked quite easy WELL!!!! I found it quite hard as I am so used to NOT going over were I had stitched. You know when you stipple there is NO crossing over other stitches I'm sure you know what I am trying to say!!!!!!!!!!!
