Ana's Quilt

Here is a photo of Ana with the quilt I helped her make last weekend. Ana chose the fabric's from some old sewing fabric's.
I cut the pieces using a method I had seen on simple quilt (quick cutting) it worked really well, I think I will have to make a quilt using this cutting method. BUT WHEN? I first need to quilt Ana's quilt for her. Hopefully she will come with me to our next FDG quilt meeting and show it herself. The plan is to put the quilt in the Quilt Exhibition (Childrens section) Details of the QUILT EXHIBITION are below.

Printing Fun

Just having a bit of fun!!!!! As you can see in the photo below I have done some samples on scraps of white fabric then I did some printing onto some green pieces of fabric which had been cut into 3 1/2 inch squares and did the printing on them. I did some using black paint then I tried using some red paint on the green fabric which I thought it would look awful but it was not to bad at all.

The green fabric had little bits of other colour on it which made it look even more interesting. I can see I will be having a lot fun in the near future, it is just a matter of finding the time to play around with more colours and more

It worked

Well my little playing with paint worked, NOW to find some time to get serious. I can't believe how quick and easy it was. Small pieces are OK because as we all know we cut it up anyway.

Reindeer Faces

My 2010 reindeer faces!!!! These are made up the from hands and a foot of my 6 grandchildren. I have used fabric paint from the $2 shop it works really well. Glued on eyes and red pom pom noses.
It is cold and wet here today so I will finish here and go and play with some fabric paint I have had an inspiration to try something but who knows if it will work. IF IT DOES I may post some photo's

Halberg Challenge

I can now show this challenge. I have done this challenge with 3 nieces it has been a lot of fun, I am thrilled to have nieces that share the same love of quilting I do. I am looking forward to see what they have come up with. I found it a little hard because the fabric we had to use was so beautiful it was very hard to cut into. The fabric was the feature fairy fabric.

Knitting

About a couple of weeks ago I celebrated a birthday I had some family members join us for dinner. I think we must have been talking about different things that we were into making when one of my sister talked about the way our mother used to knit. She would hold the wool in her left hand and she could knit really fast that way. So I was asked did I have some wool and knitting needles handy, of course I did. So Val started she the demonstration, then 5 more of us had a go at the knitting. Well after they all left the next day I thought I will have to do something with this piece of knitting. So below you can see I have put it on a canvas with the names of all who did some of the knitting. Tonight we draw it out as a raffle, I put all the names of the knitters in a hat and drew out one name, Pauline was the lucky winner.
