Free Motion Quilting on a TREADLE MACHINE

I have had a work out today! Using a treadle machine on a hot day like today certainly must burn some calories. I have had fun I wanted to see if I could do free motion quilting on a treadle sewing machine, what fun!!!!

I have stitched the orange art piece onto a piece of black calico, I have wanted to try applique free motion stitch the way Patsy Thompson does on her blog.

A Painting Play Day

Marbling using shaving foam, loved this and will do some more some day.
This is after the painting, heat set and been put through a wash cycle in the washing machine.

Printing using the gelatin method, I found this quite messy not sure that I will ever do this again.
All my new fabrics out drying!!!

12x12 Kiwiquilters Challenge

Here is my 12 x 12 Kiwiquilters challenge, the theme was "Home" I believe any house with quilts in make it a HOME!!! I have used this challenge to try out some techniques I have not tried before, much easier on a smaller wall hanging.( I wanted to try out very close free motion quilting, I am pleased with my result)
I have also decided to make my challenges to reflect some part of my life if the themes will allow my inspiration to work in that way.
This house is the house I lived in as a child, it was pulled down to make way for a school and we cannot find any photo's of it. So this is how I remember it.

Birthday Lap Quilts

I made this lap quilt for my brother-in-laws 70th birthday. I had it sent to OZ where he was going to celebrate his birthday.

The lap quilt below was a Halberg Challenge I had three blue and white fabric's I had to use and we were allowed to use as many more blue and white fabric's
we wanted. I then decided I would make it for my sister's 70th birthday which is early Dec, the name embroidered at the bottom is the name of her bed and breakfast.
