Sewing on a stormy day

Look at the foot on my treadle! I have a walking foot on so I can do some quilting, it does look a bit funny. Anyway on this cold stormy day it is perfect to stitch using my treadle sewing machine. You can achieve 3 things by using a treadle, save power, have exercise and keep warm.
Lucy is blobbing out for the day! Well she was until the thunder hit.
The white fabric under her is a very small UFO from many years ago, I thought if I bring it out and leave it hanging around I may get it finished, only problem is the hand quilting is not quite finished. I have not hand quilted for many years, I am into speed quilting and you can only do that by machine.

Back in Time

A Challenge Quilt I have done as it is in the section not to be judged I thought it would be OK to blog about it. We had to use 4 fabric's from a pack we purchased for $5 the theme was" Back in Time" and also had to have a 9 patch visible. We could also use another 6 fabric's of our own choice. It did have a size restriction which I found a bit tricky as I think it needs a border, maybe I can add one after the "EXHIBITION"

My Orchid Challenge

I just needed to show my orchid challenge I made some time ago using some of my painted fabric, the paint is from Itsy Deals, I also made my own bias tape, as I am writing this I am wondering way did I need to made it bias when I have not curved any of the black strips. The black would have worked if it was cut on the straight of the fabric. I will take a mental note of that in case there is a next time!!!!!!!!

Playing with paint

Playing around again. It is a shame my quilting in the black has not shown up I have quilted three ferns in a variegated thread. The green ladder fern on the yellow has been painted then stamped on. The leaves on the bottom brown fabric have also been stamped using little foam stamps. The small wall hanging is to demonstrate fabric paint bought from Itsy Deal. A $2 plus shop. The paints are $2.50 each
